By Dr. Robert A. Morey

Since I have studied, lectured on and written material on the “canonicity of Scripture” for 40 years, I read with interest the article by Dr. Lose addressing the subject. I was greatly disappointed.

First, the “Bible” is not one book but a collection of 66 ancient Jewish scrolls from the book of Genesis to the book of the Apocalypse. These ancient scrolls were produced in different times, cultures, languages, political, economic, and social

One of the most important requests recorded in the Bible is found in Lk. 11:1.

Secularists and the ACLU Strip First Amendment of Meaning

By Robert Knight

Christians, Orthodox Jews or anyone with traditional views of sex and marriage should be barred from state university counseling programs unless they agree to violate their beliefs. That’s the gist of the amicus brief the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed Feb. 11 in a case in which a Christian student is challenging her dismissal from a graduate counseling program at Eastern Michigan University in 2009.

Julea Ward had asked that another student take the case of a homosexual suffering from depression because, being a Christian, she could not affirm the person’s sexual relationships. Miss Ward was dismissed and filed a lawsuit charging unconstitutional viewpoint discrimination, religious discrimination and compelled speech. On July 26, 2010, a U.S. district court denied her claim, and she appealed to the 6th U.S Circuit Court of Appeals.

The ACLU’s brief to the appeals court contends that compelling someone to act against her beliefs does not violate her freedoms of religion or speech. The ACLU quotes the university’s response to Miss Ward saying she had a “conflict between your values that motivate your behavior and those behaviors expected of your profession.” In other words, you’re a conscientious Christian, so get lost.

God has nurtured, blessed and empowered Good News Communications/Christian Film & Television Commission®/MOVIEGUIDE® over the last 32 years, providing incredible opportunities for us to witness to Him and supporting us as we ventured forth in faith in His Grace.

One of the great achievements in our entire history was the fact we initiated the campaign that stopped the vile movie ANTICHRIST from making money at the box office. In fact, the movie made a measly $400,000 at the box office.

Furthermore, we helped five universities conceptualize film and media departments.

Also, I had more opportunities to preach and teach around the United States. And, I recently completed a visit to South Korea, where I taught media wisdom to 880 or more Christian educators and met with leading filmmakers in the movie industry there, convincing them to producer family-friendly movies with faith and values.

In addition, our promotion of our main website and its new design, www.movieguide.org, helped it reach new heights of visibility, averaging 7 million hits and more per month and allowing us to start selling a new iPhone application for our reviews.

Details are sketchy in the recent rash of homosexual-related teen suicides throughout the nation, but already the “gay” lobby is ready to exploit our children one more time.
In Minnesota, seven students committed suicide in recent months, three said to be involved in homosexuality. A college student at Rutgers jumped off the George Washington Bridge after his homosexual rendezvous was secretly filmed by his roommate and then broadcast over the Internet. The roommate and another student face criminal charges.

A 13-year-old in California and another in Texas killed themselves following student taunts about homosexuality. A 15-year-old in Indiana hanged himself over homosexual-related harassment.

And now we hear that another young man, 19-year-old Rhode Island college student Raymond Chase, hanged himself. He, too, believed he was “gay.”

President Obama was asked at his press conference if the election meant that with regard to terminating “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” that he needed “to tell your liberal base you are not able to get it done?”

President Obama calls Republican John Boehner after the 2010 midterm elections.

Nope. He replied, “I have been a strong believer that if someone is willing to serve (in the military) they should not be prevented from doing so. Overwhelming majorities feel the same way.” And Congress has “time to act in the lame duck session.”

This is outrageous.

Obama has learned nothing from what he acknowledges was a “shellacking.”

Almost 90 new Republicans have been elected to Congress, but will not be seated until January. The new Congress would never vote to allow openly gay men to serve, a step opposed by the heads of every branch of the military (though it is supported by the Secretary of Defense).

So the President plans to push for a vote on gays in the military in the two-week lame duck session dominated by Democrats, 61 of whom who have been voted out of office!

Did Obama notice that the Democrats in the Maine Legislature which voted for same-sex marriage, were voted out of office this week? That is explicit evidence the President is wrong in asserting “overwhelming majorities” favor same-sex marriage. The public opposes it. Forty-two states have passed Defense of Marriage Act laws that limit marriage to a man and a woman. Thirty put it in their state constitutions.

Today the people of California get to decide whether to legalize marijuana. Let’s hope they decide against it.

Whatever happens, however, let’s put an end to the stupid arguments that libertarians, liberals and red diaper doper babies make in favor of legalizing drugs, including marijuana.

One of the arguments these airheads make is that the War on Drugs is “unwinnable.” When people say it’s an “unwinnable” war, what do they really mean? What does it mean to win the drug war? You can’t possibly mean winning the drug war means no one using drugs, because, by that same logic, the war against violent crime is unwinnable.

This argument is specious. When confronted with such an argument, ask the person, What level of drug use constitutes “winning” the War on Drugs? Just because there’s rampant crime of any sort, that shouldn’t make us just give up!

Another argument in favor of legalization has the pro-legalization person asking the anti-legalization person, “If you make drugs legal, would you do drugs?”

The person’s answer to that question probably will be no, but what if it isn’t?

Of course, if they legalized rape or prostitution tomorrow, we ourselves wouldn’t suddenly become a pimp or a prostitute, much less rape anyone. Just because the average person wouldn’t do these things does not mean that a lot of other people wouldn’t do them.

Robbing banks is a perfect example here. If they made robbing banks legal, or-de-criminalized it, the average person probably isn’t going to start robbing banks, but many other people will.

Often, the pro-legalization person cites America’s allegedly bad experience with the Prohibition of alcohol in the 1920s.

The fact is, however, during Prohibition, the consumption of alcohol did indeed decline. Thus, Prohibition did indeed inhibit drinking.

Why tell children to feel “pride” and “strength” in adopting an early death sentence when you are too immature to know much of anything? How cruel, how outrageously heartless!
Instead of urging vulnerable youths into premature sexual riddled with crippling disease and death, Mr. Obama should have pointed to the October 9, 1998 Washington Post full page advert by The Whitman-Walker Clinic.

During the Ronald Reagan Administration, Voice of America (VOA), the nation’s international broadcast network, was used effectively to educate the Soviet people about the virtues of freedom. By all accounts, it played a huge roll in bringing down the Soviet empire from within, and providing freedom to its people, which had been enslaved by communism.

Now another despotic regime, even more evil than the Soviets, threatens not only its people, but the entire world. This is the radical Islamic regime in Iran, run by fanatical mullahs who are bent on the destruction of the Persian people, as well as Christians and Jews worldwide. Very few works of art communicate the Armenian spirit—its strength and depth, its continuous pain and inexplicably persistent hope—to the degree it is communicated through the music of Vartabet Komitas and the art of Yervand Kochar.

Komitas and Kochar are, respectively, the musical and imaginative colossuses of the Armenian cultural psyche. Through their tragic lives and magnificent art, these artists manifested the undefeated spirit of the Armenian people and shed some precious light on the mystery of human perseverance against oppressive darkness and violence.

The lives, as much as the art, of Komitas and Kochar are navigational maps of the Armenian experience, a sublime alchemy of transforming a matter of base, brutal circumstances into a gold of spiritual ascendance.

Komitas was a victim of and witness to the Armenian Genocide, an experience that would eventually drive him into a dark corner of insanity and shorten the creative expression of one of the world’s most original and unique composers.

As a long time teacher, I know how hard it is to get peoples’ attention—young people’s attention especially. Things like America’s early history, Pilgrims, Founding Fathers and Constitutions and such may not make much sense to those who live on the Internet, IPods, video games, texting, hanging out—whatever. Do I really have to listen to another geezer talking at me?

Let’s give this a try. Have you ever had trouble getting along with other people? Have you ever had a bully pick on you? Have you ever been hurt or troubled by others for apparently no good reason? No one likes being picked on by a bully. And by the way, why are there so many of them?!

Bullies have always been one of our biggest problems. This is so because of a problem deep inside every one of us. This problem is known as sin. Sin is something powerful and selfish. It controls us from birth.

When we were babies, we cried if we didn’t get our way instantly. We cried for no reason! We always wanted something. When we grew a little older, if we had a toy and our friend had a toy, we would want both toys! We would try to take them, and we would even hurt our friend, or brother or sister, just to get our own way, to get that toy. We always wanted attention. Attention might not make us happy, but we wanted it anyway.
Some of us had wise parents. They gently corrected us, little by little. Sometimes they even punished us to help us learn a better way. Jesus gave us the better way: Love God and love your neighbor. We love by doing things for the good of the other person. It is the exact opposite of selfishness.

Islamic extremists killed a Christian lawyer, his wife and their five children in northwestern Pakistan this week for mounting a legal challenge against a Muslim who was charging a Christian exorbitant interest, local sources said. According to a story by Compass Direct News, police found the bodies of attorney and evangelist Edwin Paul and his family on Sept. 28 at their home in Haripur, a small town hear Abbotabad in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province (previously known as the North-West Frontier Province, or NWFP), according to Haripur Station House Officer (SHO) Maqbool Khan.

The victim and his wife Ruby Paul, along with their five children ages 6 to 17, had been shot to death.

“On Sept. 28 at around 8 a.m., we received a call from Sher Khan colony that people heard gunshots, and there was a group of people who ran from a house and drove away,” Compass reported Khan said. “We went and found seven bodies in a house.”

Obama a Christian? Millions of Christians pray nightly – “If only it were so.” Not just for the country, but for the man. God’s grace and mercy through Jesus Christ is the greatest of life’s blessings on all who profess Him as their Lord and Savior in adherence to God’s Word in the Bible. Less than that is a deception to self and others about being Christian. God’s Word warns of that deception. True Christians may prefer a president be Christian, knowing that such a person will strive to live by the Godly principles upon which this nation was founded, but they do not require that a President be Christian.

The Muslim holy book, the Quran, tells Muslims it’s okay to lie about their faith to Non-Muslims to avoid “persecution,” but you can drive a 747 jumbo jet through that word “persecution” (see Sura 16:106 and 3:28 of the Quran).

In the last few days, Imam Feisel Abdul Rauf, the allegedly “moderate” Muslim behind the Ground Zero Mosque and Muslim “cultural” center in New York City, has told both CNN and ABC News that, if America doesn’t allow him and his Muslim supporters to build the mosque and cultural center, other Muslims around the world will “explode.”

Imam Feisel Abdul Rauf

“If we do move [the mosque],” Rauf said, “it will strengthen the argument of the [Muslim] radicals to recruit, their ability to recruit, and their increasing aggression and violence against our country.”

Crisis is the dominant strategy of the Obama White House. Crisis is not only their basis for “change,” it is also a tool of distraction. While the American people are put in panic mode by the latest “emergency” or calamity by a seemingly wrought White House and media, crisis provides opportunity for Obama and cohorts to hurriedly implement their agendas. But, now as more and more Americans are paying attention, they are catching on.  They are discovering that at the root of America’s crisis is the very President himself.

Early on complaints were, albeit legitimate ones, that Obama lacks business acumen. That he has neither business experience nor an education in economics. It soon became apparent to Americans that neither was needed.  One does not need business experience or education to bring down an economy or to inflict a deepening “economic crisis.” Business acumen is not needed to empty the U.S. treasury, trample free enterprise, hamstring small businesses with healthcare regulation and impending taxes, squeeze the middle class, increase unemployment/entitlement lines, raise taxes that will kill jobs, place a moratorium on oil production that kills jobs, regulate independent fishermen out of business, and, based on fraudulent global warming, push for a Cap and Trade/EPA regulated energy bill that will bust the budgets of households across America.  That is the making of a good crisis.  Obama’s White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, is often quoted as never wanting a good “crisis to go to waste.”

When I first arrived at Yale, its beauty overwhelmed me. Strolling along under its high gothic towers, and listening to the sound of Carillon bells echo across the quad, I felt as though I were part of something high-minded – almost holy. It felt like a place where one could easily be inspired to contemplate, as Paul put it, “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure” (Phil 4:8).

There were times, however, when the content of the Yale education did not live up to the uplifting contours of its architecture. At no point was this truer than during Yale’s biennial series of sex-themed special events known as “Sex Week at Yale.”

The event, usually referred to around campus as “SWAY,” has taken place at Yale every other year since 2002. I first experienced Sex Week as a student. This year, I returned to cover the event as a journalist.

The problem lies in the inescapable fact that human beings are inherently sinful, hopelessly adrift, fundamentally foolish, and powerless, in our own strength, to reach even the remotest ring rippling from the epicenter of any ageless, amorphous universal energy from which, in Chopra’s view, all divinity flows.

Only about one-third of Americans take a strong stand when it comes to abortion, according to the Barna Research Group.

A recent survey of 1,001 adults by Barna shows that 19% of Americans believe the practice should be illegal in all cases while 15% want abortion to be legal in all cases. Regrettably, however, 49% prefer keeping abortion legal in most or all cases while 42% would like to make it illegal in most or all cases.

Interestingly, 78% of Christian evangelicals believe abortion

My grandfather, Isadore Klayman, a Jew, fled the Soviet Union as a young boy, entering this country legally though Ellis Island, as most immigrants did in the early part of the 20th century. Not knowing his birthday – the Ukraine was not big on record keeping, particularly for rural farm families – “Izzy” was asked by the government immigration officer to pick a date for his entry visa. Izzy’s reply, “I’ll take Christmas, December 25! If it’s good enough for Jesus, it’s good enough for me!”

A short time before the passage of what is now known as Obama Care, I was one of a few people at a private lunch with Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (R-MN), one of the premiere conservatives in the House. She is pro-life and pro-family, as well as fiscally conservative. She has a firm understanding of how the current entitlement culture is destroying not only the financial foundations, but the social foundations of our nation. During the lunch Congresswoman Bachmann asked me what might seem an odd question to some, unless they knew that I had myself been raised in an atheistic, Marxist home in the 1960’s. She wanted to know why liberals can maintain such an attitude of superiority even when their concepts have been proven wrong so often and have led to such disasters.

Insert you and your children into this picture. . . .

I responded to Michele that the liberal mind functions according to “magic thought” which allows them to believe that their very opinions prove they have “evolved” further than other humans. Ultimately, I told her,

I was born in one country, raised in another. My father was born in another country.I was not his only child.

He fathered several children with numerous women.

I became very close to my mother, as my father showed no interest in me.

My mother died at an early age from cancer.

Although my father deserted me and my mother raised me, I later wrote a book idolizing my father not my mother.

Later in life, questions arose over my real name.

My birth records were sketchy.

No one was able to produce a legitimate, reliable birth certificate.

What does the Bible, the fully inspired and inerrant Word of God, say about government and politics, including the modern social welfare state, public education, ownership of private property, and helping the needy?

Proverbs 8:15, 16 of the Bible, the inspired Word of God, says that governments should use wisdom to rule and to make laws that are just. Proverbs 17:7 says rulers also should not lie. Proverbs 20:26 says wise rulers always try to punish the wicked. Proverbs 28:2-4 and 29:4 urges rulers to maintain order justly, to follow God’s moral code and to avoid oppressing the poor.

Furthermore, both Romans 13:3-6 and 1 Peter 2:13-15 say that government officials, whether elected or not, are ministers and servants of God who punish and restrain wrongdoers and who commend or praise those who do good works according to God’s transcendent moral code revealed in the Holy Scriptures, the Bible. Government officials must do these things whether or not the people believe in God or the Bible.

Mid-1800, the false scientific justification to deny God as Creator started with a man named Charles Darwin. Darwin’s theory of evolution divided humans into superior and inferior status. Darwin, in his own writings, labeled people of color, in particular black people, as sub-par and sub-human. The appeal of such a theory held great appeal to men who both denied the existence of God and sought superiority over fellow humans. Among them was Karl Marx, the father of Communism, who was so pleased with Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution that he sent him gifts, including a signed copy of Das Kapital in 1873 inscribed: “From a devoted admirer to Charles Darwin, Karl Marx.” Equally grateful to Darwin were mass murderers Lenin, Stalin, Mao and Hitler. All wrote of Darwin’s influence on them and their policies to oppress masses of people.

The inevitable outcome of Darwin was Hitler.

Though Marxism seeks to rid society of God, Hitler allowed religions. Early in his political career, he praised Catholicism. Initially, he also was favorably inclined towards Christianity. In time as he garnered power, Hitler came to find Christianity particularly troublesome when . . .

It’s afoot. The target: Christianity. Hijack, overthrow, or purge, the Obama government is making its move. True Christianity consists of people of biblical faith who are tolerant and giving while adhering to the Judeo-Christian teachings of Jesus Christ.

Rabbi Daniel Lapin of the American Alliance of Christians and Jews has witnessed the blessings of living in a Christian nation:  “It is not an accident that America has provided the most tranquil level of prosperity that Jews have enjoyed for 2000 years and that is because America is a Christian nation. .I think always of America’s Bible Belt as Judaism’s safety belt.”   History records that true Christianity benefits nations.

sees the world and its inhabitants as an interdependent organism…. And,

needless to say, an acceptable conservative is not one who thinks all the

Several years ago I managed the retirement plan of Willow Creek Church, the mega-church outside Chicago. When I’d go there, a local evangelical radio station would have me do a show. One show was about how we might help the poor of the US and the world. I mentioned two ideas that I personally utilized. One was Opportunity International, on whose board I have served. It is a Christian micro-enterprise lending ministry also located just outside Chicago. It raises money here so it can make tiny loans of about $200 in the third world so the poor can start businesses. That idea has since boomed.

The other idea I mentioned was the South Shore Bank in Chicago, where I’ve had a CD for over twenty years. It was partially owned by Christian denominations as its mission was to bring money into the inner-city to rehabilitate affordable housing. This life-long conservative Christian liked that as it created jobs, thereby getting people off welfare. In addition,

The Truth about Islamic Imperialism

James M. Arlandson

Historical facts say that Islam has been imperialistic—and would still like to be, if only for religious reasons. Muslim propagandists, for example, would like to impose Islamic law around the world.

Historical facts say that Islam, including Muhammad, launched their own Crusades against Christianity long before the European Crusades.

Today, Muslim polemicists and missionaries, who believe that Islam is

The world is witnessing how amoral secular economics turned the government of Greece into a gambling den. The same invisible force has also blinded Wall Street and the government of the United States into gambling away the future of America’s children. Who listens when America’s most respected investor, Warren Buffett, calls “derivatives” the “economic weapons of mass destruction” that would devastate New York in a way the 9/11 terrorists could not even imagine? The utterly insecure subprime mortgages that government-sponsored economic enterprises (AIG, Freddy Mac and Fannie Mae) sold as “high value securities” were “derivatives.” President Bush forced honest, hard-working, tax-paying Americans to bail out corrupt gamblers that should have been thrown in prison. Future Commanders-in-Chief may need the military to squeeze bailout dollars from uncooperative Americans.

For those who can see behind the screen, film SL…

If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?  (Psalms 11:3)

By Neil Markva, Attorney

With state and federal governments now tagging Bible-believing Christians as “extremists” whom citizens must be wary, it’s time to examine the Biblical basis of Christianity and its role in our nation’s Christian heritage.  For America has fallen from the pinnacle of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” marked as God-given unalienable rights in our founding document, the Declaration of Independence, to the point of imposed  government’s complete control of our lives.

In 1828, Noah Webster published the American Dictionary of the English Language after 28 years of compiling it.  The introduction of its 1967 reproduction states that the dictionary “was produced during the years when the American home, church and school were established upon a Biblical and a patriotic basis.”  Webster is quoted as saying:

In my view, the Christian religion is the most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government, ought to be instructed…. no truth is more evident to my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people….

Webster echoes the words of Jesus in His great commission to his disciples when He said, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.”  He announces His authority in heaven as the Son of God and on earth as the Son of Man created with dominion over the earth and everything in it.

Christians and Conservatives Are Not the Ones Being Really Stupid and Ignorant

By Dr. Tom Snyder with Dr. Ted Baehr

Still basking in the joy of Resurrection Day (or “Easter” to those of you who don’t know that the Vicarious Atonement, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the real reason for the current holy season), it strikes us how often atheists, alleged skeptics, liberals, leftists, fascists, Neo-Marxists, and other pseudo-intellectual elitists like to malign Christians and conservatives for being stupid and ignorant.

One of the most common, but dishonest and disingenuous, ploys of these Anti-Christian bigots is to take a fringe group (like the tiny militia members the FBI arrested in late March) and lay the blame at the feet of Christianity or conservatives.

It’s important to note, however, that these kinds of malicious, lamebrain labels are coming from people who believe that Mozart and Moses descended from monkeys and that increasing taxes and spending and re-distributing wealth will create jobs and prosperity in the private sector and not just the government.

Of course, we can all agree that Christians and conservatives, not to mention Republicans, are not completely immune from stupidity and ignorance. Or even prejudice and bigotry.

But, thousands of years of history, experience, research, objective science, and rational thought clearly demonstrate that Christian and conservative thinkers are among the most intelligent, insightful, and reliable thinkers in history.

Especially when compared to what passes for “intelligent” thought among today’s atheists, evolution “scientists,” skeptics, and leftists.
